FIELD NOTES / ARTICLES

Notes for people turning technical systems into real companies.

Short essays from the LEG Ehitus OÜ desk: project scoping, team documentation, explorer literacy, and the small choices that make a technical product easier to build and explain.

SCOPING / 8 MIN READ

A practical way to scope a digital protocol project

A protocol project can become vague very quickly because the team starts with nouns: network, token, app, validator, wallet, API. A better first pass starts with verbs. Who can create something? Who can change it? What can be verified? What happens when one part is unavailable?

Write those actions as a simple sequence. Then mark which actions happen in your application, which happen on a network, and which happen through a person or organization. That boundary map usually exposes the work that was hiding behind a single box in the original diagram.

The final step is to list what the protocol cannot decide for you. Support policy, onboarding, permissions, security review, communication, and operational ownership still need human decisions. Scope becomes useful when those decisions are visible.

Decision log cards arranged beside a product architecture sketch

Document the decision, not just the diagram

Diagrams are good at showing shape. They are bad at remembering why the shape changed. A small decision log fixes that gap without creating a documentation project of its own.

For each meaningful choice, capture five lines: the question, the chosen direction, the reason, the owner, and the condition that would make the team revisit it. That is enough context for a new teammate to understand the path without replaying weeks of meetings.

The log also helps marketing and product people. When they know why a technical boundary exists, they can describe the product with fewer accidental promises and fewer rewrites.

Network explorer screens represented as linked technical panels

TOOLS / 7 MIN READ

Use explorers as evidence, not decoration

An explorer screen looks authoritative because it is dense with numbers and identifiers. The useful habit is to ask what one field actually proves.

A transaction status can tell you whether a network accepted an action. A contract page can show source details when they are available. An address page can show activity associated with that address. None of those views automatically explains business intent, ownership, or the full context around a product.

When a team cites explorer data in a document, include the network, exact identifier, timestamp, and source link. That turns a screenshot into something another person can verify later.

LEG EHITUS OÜ NOTE / SITE UPDATE

The explorer reference desk is now part of the LEG Ehitus OÜ learning library

We added a dedicated page that routes teams to established explorers across Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, TRON, XRP Ledger, Base, Arbitrum, and Polygon.

The point is simple: when a workshop reaches the words “check the explorer,” people should not have to search through a pile of unrelated results first. The page gives the team a stable starting point and a reminder to verify the network before reading any record.

We will keep the reference desk focused on practical lookup, not on live market panels or promotional rankings.

LEG EHITUS OÜeducation + team advisory

LEG Ehitus OÜ provides educational material and technical advisory services for organizations working with blockchain systems and digital protocols. Content is general and should be checked against your legal, tax, security, and operational requirements.
